Frequently asked questions

Language Course

Are the teachers properly educated?

All the teachers have a university degree. LanguageOnSale only chooses to cooperate with high quality language schools. However, it is not certain that they speak foreign languages fluently. This is often the case if you sign up for a high level course.

How do I know my language level?

When in doubt about your current language level, there are multiple tests you can do online for free. Some language schools even have a test feature embedded on their website. These are recommended if you already picked your language school because they are well calibrated with the courses they offer. However, language schools decide what language level suits you best with a placement test on your first day. If you are beginner to the foreign language, please select the courses that have all levels or beginner stated as language level.

Do I receive a certificate after completing a course?

Generally - YES. Nearly all courses come with a certificate of attendance.

Can I receive course concession?

Whether or not you can get course concession depends on the course type, course duration and your institution of higher education. Contact your programme organiser and the international office at your university to learn about the requirements.

How many lessons are there per week?

This depends on the course type and the school. Normally for a standard group course it is 20 lessons per week. Each course you find on LanguageOnSale has it specified under course detail. You can read more about the general description of each course and whom it is suited for under language course types.

Can I receive internationally recognized diplomas?

Yes, you can when you take examination courses. They normally last between 4 and 13 weeks. For more general information please go to exam preparation. For specific information select course type exam preparation and read the course details section.

Can I choose what time I attend the courses?

Some popular group courses start twice a day, which means you can choose a morning or afternoon course but that depends on the school, course and season. For individual courses some schools can accommodate your needs and requirements in terms of timetables. If it is critical for you to know the timetable upfront then see the specific language school’s brochure or contact the school directly.

Do you offer language travels for youth under 18?

Yes, some language travels are for youth under 18. Each course has a minimum age requirement. See the specific course details to find out more. Youth under 18 years old can attend a course provided they have parental consent and on condition that they are sufficiently mature.

Do I need a visa to attend the course?

Naturally, this depends on your nationality and in which country the school is located. If you are in any doubt contact the embassy of your future host country. Please investigate if you need a visa before you book a course. Read more about it under Checklist.

Is the language school open during public holidays?

Public holidays apply for the language schools as well. Select the destination country on this site and you will find all the public holidays.

Accommodation

Can I be sure that the accommodation is close to the school?

This is not a guarantee especially not for private accommodations during peak season but be sure that the language schools go big lengths to find a comfortable solution for all parties.

If the accommodation is private do the owners speak only the native language?

This is not a criterion when finding suitable private accommodations. On the other hand they are native speakers which gives you an opportunity to practice your language skills outside the classroom too.

Is there an age limit for homestay?

No, everybody is welcome but youth under 18 must have parental consent.

Is the accommodation available before the course starts?

Accommodation is often made available a day before the beginning of your booked course and sometimes also a day after the last course day. More information can be found on the specific accommodation details.

Can I use the kitchen if the accommodation type is homestay?

Generally it is not possible to use the host family’s kitchen to prepare your own meals. But is our experience that a certain kind of agreement can always be reached.

LanguageOnSale services

Do you offer additional discount for repeat clients or groups?

No the prices are already as low as possible. We cannot offer an even better deal for a special segment because that will mean that the majority of our clients are overpriced.

Why is it cheaper to order through LanguageOnSale than directly with the language school?

LanguageOnSale only offers last-minute courses and only offers courses that could not be sold through the conventional sales channels. On the other hand clients that do not mind a more limited selection and being more spontaneous will receive a substantial discount.

Who can use your services?

As long as the course minimum age requirements are met, people from all over the world can enjoy our services.
