Malta is situated in the middle of the Mediterranean, only a 90 minutes boat ride from Sicily. Although the island nation has a modest size of 316 sq km and consists of the main islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino, it still has amazing history, unique architecture and beautiful turquoise-coloured beaches.
The architecture depicts a turbulent and yet fascinating history formed by many different cultures’ influence. It also has some of the oldest human structures known to man. Malta accommodated historical figures such as Ulysses and the apostle Paul. This near mythical past is perfectly complemented by the country’s ancient appearance.
Besides the amazing sightseeing possibilities and the vigorous nightlife, Malta is also ideal for swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. With an average summer temperature of 30 °C and with waters that have superb visibility and stunning underwater scenery it is really no surprise.
